Archies - Archway
Set right between Archway and Highgate Village is the modern and relaxed cafe 'Archies', it may appear tiny from the outside but there's actually loads of seating.
They've put real thought into the decor and it looks fresh, polished, and has a trendy and homely feel to it, perfect hang out space!
The guy who served us was so friendly, happy and personable, very chilled too which added to the overall good vibes to the place.
maple roasted granola, coconut yoghurt, fresh mango, and cacao nibs (GF)
Scrambled tofu, potato terraine, mushrooms, avocado, slow roasted tomatoes, smokey beans and toast
Smashed avocado on sourdough toast
Baby gem lettuce, avocado, tomato, jalepinos, tortilla chips, and lime dressing (GF)
I went for the full vegan, absolutely delicious! They definitely have a professional chef rather than a cook, the tomatoes were particularly amazing, and had been baked with herbs giving them a really special Italian flavour, the smashed avocado was so fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The chef's beans were delicious and so good with the sourdough toast.
I didn't actually notice at the time (admittedly because it was so delicious) but the scrambled tofu was missing! It would have made a lovely addition but it was amazing anyway.
My friend got the granola (check out the careful lime zest garnish). It was too big for her so I had a cheeky sample! The coconut yoghurt was rich and thick, the mango was plump and juicey and the granola had so many additional healthy ingredients in it! The lime zest on the top gave it an amazing subtle tang, loved it!
For a drink and the full vegan I paid £10 which I considered pretty standard pricing for exceptional cooking, the ingredients are all simple, but so much care and attention to detail has been taken. I will be back to this cafe for the staff, amazing food, and the lovely seating area.
Overall I gave them:
