By Chloe - Various Locations

Updated: Oct 15, 2019

By Chloe - is the relatively new to the UK vegan fast food joint from the USA. The Greenwich branch is the newest, and the one I decided to visit, but so far they also have branches in Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, and Oxford Circus. It's a little hard to find inside the shopping centre, but the staff there were friendly and helpful.

In terms of menu, service, staff uniforms and food presentation it is very akin to a vegan McDonalds, but they have actually set it up in a very classy way and presented really well.

Everything looks clean, fresh, trendy and bright. They have benches outside on astroturf for sunny days, plus individual swing chairs around the windows, I wouldn't want to attempt eating a burger in them, especially with the inevitable spectators from outside, but it looks cool and fun!

It is pricey, most definitely pricey. For what you get for your money you could go to a proper sit down restaurant, and this is essentially a fast food outlet. They win points on how enthusiastic and friendly staff were, how much seating was available, and how clean it was, but most definitely lose them again for providing too much disposable packaging, even for food that gets eaten inside (plastic individual sauce pots, plastic cups, paper sheets for trays and paper food wraps).

They have a buzzer system to collect food when it's ready, and the food was quick! I ordered a guac burger, fries, an iced coffee, and a vegan cookie

The burger was good, the sweet potato patty was delicious, the vegan cheese a great compliment, the salad was fresh and crunchy. They put such a gigantic lump of plain guacamole on the top, so that by the centre you have a wedge of avocado as thick as the burger to munch through. Great addition!

The fries were pretty standard in taste, but the dips that they have to go with it were super unique and tasty, they have them on dispensers at the side and there is a choice between a tangy beetroot ketchup and a spicy, creamy chipotle aioli, of course I tried both!

The cookie was soft and sweet, gooey enough so you can bend it for a long time before it breaks, it tasted fresh and delicious.

They also do cakes which I didn't try but that look delicious!

The staff were very enthusiastic, friendly and obviously having fun, but this is a new branch and I suspect this may not linger to the same degree forever. I really can't fault them for now though, and there were always people about cleaning and interacting with the customers. All in all I had a great experience there, I just wish they were a bit cheaper and a bit more conscious of their plastic usage.
