Halo Burger - Brixton

Halo burger, the totally vegan burger bar is in Brixton Boxpark, the hangout spot made out of containers. If you haven't been before, go! It's a really fun place to hang out in.

As you can see, outside seating is covered, casual and quirky. There are also a few counter top style seats inside.

The inside is a bit weird, it is an American company that has been brought over, and they seem to have tried to make it still look like an American franchise, they've dressed their staff in red aprons, red baseball caps, and they serve you quickly, they aren't friendly or rude, but the vibe is a little different from the majority of the box park where staff are friendly and casual.

Menu:

SMOKEY CAROLINA BBQ SUMMER SPECIAL

1/4 LB beyond burger patty, smoked gouda style cheese, Brixton ale battered onion strips, Carolina BBQ sauce, and mayonnaise

THE HALO BURGER

2x beyond burger 1/8 LB patties, 2x American style cheese slices, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, gherkins, and signature sauce

CHEESEBURGER

1/8 LB beyond burger patties, American style cheese slice, diced onion, lettuce, tomato, gherkins, and signature sauce

HAMBURGER

1/8 LB beyond burger patty, diced onion, lettuce, tomato, gherkins, and signature sauce

I went big and chose the 'Smokey Carolina BBQ Summer Special'. The patty was super meaty tasting, it was thick and juicy. The BBQ sauce had been reduced so it was sticky, it was tangy and delicious and went everywhere!! The gouda cheese went with it nicely and I was a massive fan of the battered onion rings on a burger. The combination meant the burger was juicy, crunchy and saucy!

This burger was definitely something to go for if you are in the mood for a junk food meal, if you aren't, you most certainly will crave veg afterwards!

It was a little pricey at £9.50 for just the burger without fries, but a regular cheeseburger did come in cheaper at £6.50 and still has lots crammed into it. Service was quick, atmosphere was fun, and I really feel that they're offering something niche here, so I would definitely go back!
