Nora and Nama: Camden Town

Updated: Oct 15, 2019

Nora and Nama is a market style bakery and totally vegan. They have savouries, drinks, cookies and loads of cakes. It's in Camden Lock Market, and offers either take away, or plated snacks to eat on the nearby benches. Staff were quiet but friendly, and the changing selection smallish but varied and I felt spoilt enough for choice.

It was tough choosing from all those vegan cakes but in the end I came away with the lemon cheesecake, and a banofee bar.

The cakes were both enormous, the lemon cheesecake was creamy, rich and had a delicious crunchy biscuit base. The banoffee bar was even better and I highly recommend it. It had a gooey caramel layer, biscuit base, a banana layer and then a thick creamy layer on top. It was the thick creamy layer on top that really made these cakes exceptional and unique.

As you can probably see from the picture it didn't hold together very well and I ended up eating it in the kind of scoops that you can see above. However, I'd much rather they compromised on this rather than flavour and I really don't think anything needs to be changed - just prepare to get a bit messy!
